Book Endorsements
It is a great book, well done, factual, and encouraging. I am passing my book around for people to read and they all seem to like it.
June Sommer
This book is a must read for those who want to get a deeper insight into the situation in Iraq. It uses a wide variety of original sources to tell the reader about some things that are rarely publicized.
Richard Albrecht Retired history teacher/Professor
This book is one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. It depicts the true story of what is happening in Iraq. All facts and data are backed up by end notes of sources, people interviewed, etc.
This book shows the many accomplishments our soldiers are performing every day, from creating education for women and children, to women securing legal rights and the right to vote, to diminishing abuse of animals. I think this book honors our many soldiers, and all who have given so much of themselves, often their very lives, to help an oppressed country and help alleviate massive suffering. What a refreshing, uplifing view into the realities of the war in Iraq.

Shooting straight is the only book shooting in its direction. While it might be too rightist for some tastes, it sheds light on forgotten aspects of the Iraq war. So is it going all wrong in Iraq as the media keeps on reporting? Shane Clapper thinks not. He carefully selects all the “good news” and compiles them into this well researched book…. The style of this book is smooth. It might not be music to many American ears, but it has good information that can be used as reference sometime in the future. It is worth the money.
Hussain Abdul-Hussain- Former Iraqi- Journalist
Shane Clapper has written an important book about the most important issue of our generation: the war in Iraq–which our enemies have acknowledged is the central front in the global war on terror. His book thoroughly documents a story that the mainstream media, with all of its vast resources, has missed: that America is winning the war. As people learn of the good news from Iraq, books like this can help win an even more significant battle: the battle for our national will. We will not lose this war abroad. We can only lose it at home by losing our collective nerve.
